Default Do you still create websites from scratch

Do you still create websites from scratch?

Back when I first started websites in 2003 I would open up Dreamweaver and start coding a website from scratch like this one: Fitted Kitchen, Kitchen Suppliers UK

I would then open up Photoshop or Paintshop Pro and design a header and any other images I needed like a gradient bar.

Today when I start a website I think of which software to use like Wordpress or vBulletin rather than coding the site myself. I then would look for a free wordpress theme and edit it.

Unless you plan something really specialized, does it really make sense to build a site from scratch?

I prefer to build it from scratch, I mean not only then do I know that it's a problem with my code not the wordpress etc code but I feel like I've accomplished more by hard coding a site rather than using a CMS like wordpress or Joomla as a base.

It is nice to know that I am not the only one who has changed their habits.

I stopped coding by hand, except for special scripts or snippets, a while ago. It is easier to use the page editor provided by the web host, or to load a template.

It is wiser to use more time promoting than designing, IMHO.

absolutely, especially if you are on a tight timeline.
using a ready template will also allow people that do not have an EXPERT knowledge of HTML to access their Control Panel and make the necessary changes
