Default Finding More Freelance Work

Hey guys,

We have a new forum member called Matthew Leak who wants to start Freelancing from college but is finding it hard to get work, so please share your tips.

For me:

- Blog, show of that you are a great designer/programmer - offer tutorials etc and people will flock to your site and then sell your services there.

- Forums and marketplaces like Sitepoint, Digitalpoint and TalkFreeLance

- Friday Ad and offline companys, bring them online and charge a premium.

Please share,

Michael

Thanks for the advice, and the thread itself michael! wow. :)

I've setup a blog on Status by Design, but it's a new site. It only went live the other day, and there's still some content to be wrote. The layout for it at the moment is only temporary too. I'm currently in the process of redesigning, but when that goes live is another question.

It's just getting people to notice me that I find hard. I have marketing materials (stickers and top quality business cards) but I don't know what i should do with them exactly. Well, I have ideas. But what's the best thing to do with them to ensure people take note of them, and hopefully contact me and award me a project. - That is the goal I am trying to achieve.

IMO joining online business sites can benefit you in myriad ways as they're jam packed with potential clients. You can also meet and trade ideas with other professionals in business, just like you. My signature could help you.
