Dyslexic Entrepreneurs
Hello everyone,
Quite a lot I have been flamed and put down for having bad spelling, what is your opinion on me and other entrepreneurs with spelling problems. I also do a spell check but it doesn't always help. Thanks, Discuss. PS. Yes I Googled dislexic to get the right spelling.

I think the main reason for it on other forums is because I am more successful then they are ;-)

I am usually a sceptic when it concerns dyslexia. It may be different elsewhere, but here in the Netherlands it's actually good to be diagnosed with dyslexia, because it gives you all kinds of benefits while in school - more time for tests etc...
As a result, it's beginning to look like half our population is dyslexic, and instead of being told "well, you're just going to have to work a little harder now that you've got dyslexia", they're being treated like princes. I am of the opinion that if you're dyslexic, you just have to work that little bit harder than people without it. It's the same with any other disorder. If you have a manic depressive disorder and you want to become the president of the United States, the simple fact is that you're just going to have to put in more effort than someone without it. It'd be stupid to think that you can put the blame on your disorder if you declared war in one of your manic periods. It just doesn't work like that. Having said all this, it is obvious that you do succeed (in an awesome fashion, I might add), so it's a little obnoxious of people to then call you a noob for not being able to spell as well as one might expect from a succesful entrepreneur. Just keep your head high, and don't let it get to you :P |

I don't mind people with proven Dyslexia, I only mind if you let it get you down and you start putting in no effort at all. If you can be bothered to run a simple spell check or try your best then I can forgive a few spelling mistakes, it isn't like it is impossible to tell what you were trying to say.

Hello Rogier,
I totally agree with your point. I was told very young that I was dyslexic and it was very obvious I was a bad at reading and writing, I have only got better because now I run this website. Coming to the end of my school life a lot of students were saying they were now dyslexic when it was obvious they weren't anywhere near as bad as I was. Michael
