This is something I really need to work on - I need to keep up with my receipts better, and label them right then and there. I have been paying way too much in taxes and I need to get a better handle on the situation!

I put all my business income and expenses through my PayPal account. I may not be very good with record keeping, but at least it's all in once place.

QuickBooks is a great way to keep track of your income and expenses. An older version would work just fine if you are running your business out of your home. You can pick up an older version for very little on auction site.

I just bought a new computer and it has Quicken on it. I am working with that - you would be surprised how much of your money goes on food and other things when you see it on a chart like that!

I love Online Banking. It helps me keep track of the activity on my account. Excel is good about keeping track of your expenses too if you make a spreadsheet or a chart to keep up with.

Quicken is the "it" accounting software right now. It handles finances a-z and practically does your taxes for you.

That's what I do, online banking. I get the bill, set up the payment immediately for a few days before due and presto. For tax purposes, the bank goves you all the info you need on a tax statement at the end of the year.
