Have you set up a specific amount as a marketing line item in your operating budget? How did you go about deciding how much of your annual budget would be going toward marketing?

First of all I brokedown my targeted market. Next I broke down methods of reaching them. Some of these methods actually bring slight (emphasis of slight) income return. Then, I sampled my ad markets to see the biggist return. All these breakdowns helped me to target my dollars more efficently. The slight profit from marketing tools is turned over to feed the marketing process.

Im with aquariancore, it depends on your market and how you will reach them. I spend around $300 - $500 on marketing a month.

Thank you. Do you find more of your marketing budget going for print or electronic marketing materials?

As for me what I do is find out how much that I am willing to spend. The more money that you spend the more you get out of it as long as the folks that you are buying it from are honest and reputable.

I just pay for marketing as the opportunity arises, but luckily I don't really need too much.
