1. get a bank account.
2. don't tell them.
3. at number one... lol

well, first of all, this will be an online business?

create a PayPal account and link it to your bank account.

do you get any money at the moment? (allowance and stuff like that).
first thing you will need to do is get some web hosting. you can start out pretty cheap and when you make some money from the web design/coding then you can upgrade it.

you will of course need a website (design/coded) which I would assume you can do... lol
just make it appealing and not very large (as in MB size) so it is fast loading.

on that site have some examples and previews of your previous work.

then get the link to your site out there... put it in your sig, suggest yourself if someone is looking for a web designer/coder, etc.

of course, a simple, easy to remember domain name would be good too.

for web hosting, Cirtex Hosting (in my sig) is a great place to get it. they got some cheap plans there.

for domain names, I suggest Dynadot as they are quite cheap and I haven't had any problems with them.

hope that helps...

Hey Ryan, get your parents involved with your ideas, it helps to have support even if they are not experienced because they give you a moral backbone, and plus someone can always see mistakes that you can't. Moreover, your parents are the least likely people to try to steer you wrong. As the previous poster said, try to open up a PayPal so you can easily make transactions online. For hosting purposes, go with a freehost for the moment being and as you progress, simply purchase a larger host provider; then again you might not want to move your website over to a new host. For this I would recommend www.profusehost.net. I currently use that for my testing purposes and plus you get 2 gigabytes of hosting space and 100 gigabytes of monthly bandwidth, which is in competetion with other paying host providers. Other than that, good luck, and see you around!

First, I would recommend you tell your parents. If the business fails or someone wants to take you to court your parents are responsible as you are under 18 (Well, that's how it works here in the U.K)

However it's unlikely you will run into legal issues. Most people just threaten it but never go through with the talk..
