Default Holiday Strategies

The emails associated with Black Friday holiday sales have started hitting my email account. It seems like more or my affiliate programs are using these specials to build sales, since the economy is really slow.

I am not sure that I am going to use the same strategy as last year, though. Adding new pages, gathering product photos, etc., seems like a huge effort compared to simply pushing links to gift cards!

Are you going to change your promotion strategies for this holiday shopping season?

I change my promoting strategies from time to time. I don't stick with a same strategy for a certain amount of time. Besides I would always try to taste new strategies from time to time.

With financial times as they are right now, people are looking to spend their disposable incomes a little more carefully, which means they will be looking for the cheapest possible deals and prices. To stay in with the competition we are going to have to change our marketing strategies.

I thought the same way, that people are only looking for bargains since they are broke. And then I visited our local mall, and I discovered I was so wrong!

People are buying like crazy, and spending lots of money. It sure does not look like recession at the mall :)

If you have a product that sells, advertise it NOW. It will sell for the holidays.

I think you would be a fool not to change your site for Christmas, everyone already has it in their head that they need to spend at Christmas time, you just got to convince them its you they should be spending their money with.

I was wondering how many members here actually have a website offering products or services. It would be interesting to look at some of these.

Anybody willing to share?

I realize I'm a bit late, but you can always use my advice for next Christmas :D

I would definitely suggest changing your strategy at Christmas time. You need to convince potential customers to buy from YOU, not your comeptitors.
