Need help for Increasing Google PR !

i had tried some of the we site optimising and promoting tools for increasing google PR for my site,

but i am not getting any result, even in last update i wasn't able to get anything of what i wanted.

Can anyone plaese tell me a efficient methord to increase my google PR ranking.

You need alot of backlinks and a very active website. I have no idea of when the next update will be, but it is getting fewer and fewer.

from what types of site should i get the back link, should they be related to my site.
does backlink from forums does any good.

Well I do not think it matters, though carefully chosen backlinks will get you more traffic.
