I am co-owner of a business and we have a website. We also have a blog and a MySpace. Problem is that there's never as much traffic as I'd like.
I've tried various things that I've heard that may help but I simply haven't hit on the magic combination yet. How do you get enough traffic to satisfy you? |

Hi,
My site (well its actually a blog) gets around 200 uniques per day, which for a new site is fairly ok. So far I have been advertising as much as I can on forums and in signatures and chat rooms, I found this VERY effective. Also, alot of people have found my site through technatori which i had never used so I dont know how it got on there but its effective. Commenting on blogs is also a very good method. These are all very easy and simple steps to average traffic, hopefully in the near future I will be able to tell you how to get hundreds of thousands, but not yet. Thanks, Shane

Forums and commenting on others blogs and websites is a great way to naturally get traffics, especially the unique hits you can get from lurkers and guests who are just reading forums and clicking around at different blogs/sites. Try that method out if you haven't already and see how it goes.
Good luck! |

SEO - write lots of relevant content, get lots of links.
PPC - work out how much profit you make per sale (or the average profit if you sell many products) and multiply this by your site's conversion rate as a percentage to work out how much you earn for each visitor. Set up a PPC campaign and set the max CPC below this number. Last edited by sawya : 03-12-2008 at 05:21 AM. |

Lots of good keyword rich content is a great way to get going as well as social bookmarking like mentioned above. Spending time writing a tonne of quality content can go a long way as long as you're spending time looking around and promoting yourself within your niche as well.

Have you tried writing shorter versions of your articles and submitting them to article sites like Associated Content?
Sources for more information are allowed, meaning you can include links to your blog entries. Associated Content also provides a small, lump sum payment for unique articles, with bonuses for traffic. It isn't a bundle of money but it sweetens the pot more than submitting to free articles sites might! |
